The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) opened the Minnesota Road Research (MnROAD) facility in Albertville, MN, in 1994. By 2008, interest in examining more current pavement designs led to the reconstruction of some test sections. To extract as much useful information as possible, a comprehensive forensic investigation was conducted during the removal of the original sections.
