“We only do work that captures our imagination”. Sounds a bit cheeky, you might think, but the enthusiasm, commitment and unusual projects of the Australian designs collective Rinzen have indeed managed to astound creatives and clients alike. And as a reward they get even more interesting jobs.

At the very least it is unusual for a feature animation film targeted at the family market to be focusing on themes like midlife crisis, marital problems, bad parentage, impotence, fashion faux pas and job worries. And also to be very neat send-up of a mainstream modern American life. What’s more unusual is that this satire comes from the crucible of animation experts Pixar, who have so far introduced us to living toys, talking fish and human-like insects. But with “The Incredibles” these creatives are stepping out in a new direction.
