The tilt-up construction method was once used only in a few areas and only for “big box” distribution centers. It’s now the method of choice for constructing a much broader range of facilities that are taller and more architecturally ornate than those of the past. It’s clear, however, that tilt-up is sometimes used where it is perhaps not the best or most economical choice, and this overuse may be damaging the reputation of this first class building method.
