Meta-analysis, in contrast to conventional reviews of the literature, finds robust positive effects of well-developed psychological, educational, and behavioral treatment. When aggregated estimates of treatment effects are made, the results are different from those obtained by adding up the numbers of studies showing significant versus non significant treatment effects
