Since the terrorist attacks last September, U.S. Customs has been on Alert Level 1, the highest state of watchfulness. While the requirements for inbound shipments technically have not changed, the level of enforcement is up exponentially. How companies navigate this challenge illustrates a level of resourcefulness, creativity, and attention to detail. Given low inventory practices, this challenge, if left unanswered, could become a business model killer.
