For the past 25 years, Greek photographer Maria Spyropoulou has trained her camera on the vast theatre of life playing out on the streets of Athens. A curator of antiquities by profession, she brings a historical-cultural perspective to her encounters, gazing upon her subjects while allowing their return gazes to help shape her visual narratives.
